What we collect

• Free check: the domain you enter is queried via Cloudflare's public DNS resolver and a single passive homepage header check. We don't store your check unless you submit the form asking us to email you a report or alert you to changes.
• Report requests, agency inquiries and early access (/api/lead): your email address, optional name, domain, inquiry type, message and timestamp (lawful basis: taking steps at your request and your explicit consent under UK GDPR / PECR).
• Customers: account, domain ownership verification records, billing (handled by our payment provider) and monitoring results (lawful basis: contract).

Processors

Cloudflare, Inc. (edge hosting, serverless Workers & encrypted KV storage), plus our transactional email and payment providers once billing is enabled, with UK GDPR international transfer safeguards (UK Addendum to Standard Contractual Clauses / UK adequacy) in place.

Retention

We delete unsubscribed lead inquiries 24 months after the last contact, or sooner at your request via hello@lanterncheck.co.uk. We keep customer invoice records for 6 years after the account closes for HMRC tax compliance.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@lanterncheck.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
